Guess who's having a bundle of joy!?!?!

Well, in case this picture doesn't speak for itself... Richard and Amber are having a baby!!!!!! We were so excited to FINALLY announce it yesterday to our parents and families. We have known since our 5 month anniversary, Dec. 2, and Amber went in for an ultrasound on Monday the 21st. Everything looks great, and our little one is due on July 31! We told Amber's parents by changing the words to "We Three Kings" and singing to them over the phone. (We three Heywoods...) They thought that was clever. Then, at Richard's parents, we said we had had family pictures taken, but no time to mail them out, so we handed them an envelope with the ultrasound pictures. So fun! We are just so excited to start our family, and can't wait to meet our new addition! Hope you all had a Merry Christmas! We love you!

Hey all, This is a lame excuse for an invitation to Brocks Baptism but it snuck up on us all of a sudden. I didn't even realize it was so soon until the ward executive secretary came up and asked when a good time for his meeting with the bishop would be. So, long story longer, his baptism is going to be on January 3rd at 9:00 am. I will get invitations out so you will have the address.

Some things that keep Austin busy:

He made a longboard with his Priest Quorum. He worked really hard and did just what he envisioned. Isn't it so cool?? He took logos off t-shirts from Youth Conference (Rock Solid), the Trek (No toil nor labor Fear), and the Priest Qourum shirt (DC 4).

He is an ultimately intense Ultimate Frisbee player. 

They play twice a week.

And last week he did his 2nd triathlon.

The time has arrived that I should start asking questions... even though my mother says not to ask too many questions so close to Christmas!  So, I'll just ask one! Anywho, I have had my interviews and my mission papers are in Salt Lake's possession!  I plan to have my call in my hands by about the 18th of December, and I wish to know from each individual who has the privilege of writing on this blog to make a guess and post it! Shining moments: One blessed by all Published: Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008 Laura White is confined to a wheelchair and has limited ability to communicate, the results of a car accident when she was 10 years old. She is an active, spiritual young woman in the Prairie 13th Ward, West Jordan Utah Prairie Stake. When she turned 16 years old in August and moved into the Laurel class, her leaders sensed her desire to earn her Young Womanhood medallion, according to Suzanne Rentmeister, the ward's Young Women president. There was no thought that the award's requirements would be adapted to Laura's abilities, but would be met as outlined. To do so, the leaders called upon the ward's other 23 young women. They were asked if they would be willing to join together in meeting every requirement on Laura's behalf, and do it in the 10 weeks before Young Women in Excellence Night. That meant completing six value experiences and one value project in each of the seven Young Women values, a task that can easily take several years. There were rules, Sister Rentmeister said: No one was forced to participate, and "the young women would have to sacrifice their time and efforts for Laura and not double count it on their own personal progress." The young women unanimously voted to support the project, Sister Rentmeister said. Laura's parents — Doug and Eva — attended the Young Women in Excellence Night to hear 12-year-old daughter Amy speak, knowing nothing of the project on Laura's behalf. Sister Ann Dibb of the Young Women General Presidency was among the many others in attendance. Everyone joined Brother and Sister White in tears of joy as Laura was presented her medallion, attended by Amy who had helped coordinate the effort without her parents' knowledge. In her talk, Amy spoke of the project, the Young Women values and of Laura's example in her life. Sister Dibb spoke, commending the Young Women and encouraging them to continue in such a spirit of service the rest of their lives. Sister Rentmeister said that when Laura is really happy about something, she gives a "thumbs up" sign. Laura joyfully gave the thumbs up as she wore her medallion. The young women of the ward, including three who are not members of the Church, touched many hearts, including Sister Rentmeister's. Elder Wirthlin

I was saddened to realize that Elder Wirthlin passed away last night. Surprised? No. And actually happy for him. I am so thankful for his life, his devotion, and his humor. 

When I was in a Primary Presidency several years ago, he came to visit our stake for Stake Conference. The Stake President, Terry Turk, asked us to spend the few weeks prior to conference learning all we could about him so the he would be "our apostle." That exercise truly endeared him to me. I love that man. Every time he spoke in the past 10 years, I felt that somehow he belonged a little bit to me. We've had this little connection, he and I. He has spoken directly to me many times.  Oh, you too?? Hmm. Well. . . today I want to say, loud and clear, 

"Come what may, and Love it!!!"
